I am Hala. I obtained a Master's of Science degree in counseling, marriage and family therapy from California State University, Northridge. I am an English and Arabic speaking psychotherapist. I enjoy practicing yoga & meditation, reading, and spending time with my friends & family. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (#119193). Dialects of Arabic understood & spoken: Syrian, Lebanese, Jordanian, Egyptian, Gulf, Emirati, Iraqi, and more!
Have you ever found yourself making the same mistake more than once? Getting into negative relationships? Repeating your family's past? Feeling stuck in making various decisions? As a psychotherapist, my goal is to help you let go of any thoughts, feelings, or experiences that may be holding you back. Ultimately, this increases your sense of positive well-being, while reducing pre-existing negative mindsets.
I listen to you. I pay attention to repetitive behaviors that may be occurring between you and your friends and family. I hear you when you feel that others just don't get it.
I am here to support you if you'd like to share any experiences, memories, or feelings that may be hidden. Together, we will map out conflicted and healthy relations by drawing a genogram and friend-o-gram (a tool that I have developed to aid in assessing your social relations in comparison to your family relations). The therapeutic process begins when you let go of these experiences through simply talking about them. Imagine a computer filing system in your mind where you file the good memories and throw out the bad ones. But what if the bad memories are the ones we need to process in order to move forward in life? This is what "letting go" looks like, and I will be there with you every step of the way as you embark on this life-changing journey.
